Tough Shit

Motherhood is messy, unpredictable, and often downright absurd. That famous guide should never have been called What to Expect When You're Expecting—rather, Buckle Up Bitch Rough Waters Ahead. Tough Shit is one woman's brutally honest, hilarious, and painfully relatable journey through one of motherhood's least discussed rites of passage: the first postpartum bowel movement. Equal parts horror story, comedy, and survival tale, it shines a light on a taboo experience that countless women endure in silence. With candor, humor, and heart, this story tackles the physical realities of postpartum recovery that no one warns you about—but that all mothers remember. Because motherhood is always smooth sailing — said no woman, ever.
